School Policies

VISITING HOURS GUIDELINES:

To ensure appropriate participation of parents or guardians in the child's learning process, enable interaction with educators, and facilitate the smooth operation of classes, the school will observe the following visiting hours for meetings.

Director: With prior appointment/information on all working days (Mon-Sat), during office hours.
Principal: With prior appointment /information on all working days (Mon-Sat), during office hours.
Class Teachers: Between 09:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon on the first and third Saturdays of every month.
Subject Teachers: With prior appointment on all PTM days.

Please Note:

  • Any change in the aforementioned schedule shall be notified by the principal.
  • In case of an emergency, the parents/guardians are requested to contact the front office at school, as the class teachers may not be available for meetings during or between classes.
  • The timings for specific events like workshops, PTMs, etc., will be communicated to the parents, a few days before the event.

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS FOR PARENT’S/GUARDIAN’S ATTENTION:

We request the parents and guardians to please:

  1. Abide by the rules and cooperate with the school administration regarding their implementation.
  2. Mention the child's full name, admission number, class, and section in all correspondence with the school communicated to the principal.
  3. Acknowledge and sign the Remarks from Principal/Headmistress or Note to Parents sent by the teachers in the Almanac pages and the Progress Report Card to follow the academic progress of their child/children.
  4. Acknowledge and check the work done by the child/children at school. The updates for the same will be sent by the class teacher at regular intervals.
  5. Acknowledge any correspondence sent by the school via WhatsApp and official circulars.
  6. Contact the front desk to make a formal request for the change in residence or any facility sought for their child/children (like after-school programme) in the official school records. Kindly note that such changes will take up to three working days for processing. Moreover, the parents/guardians need to submit a valid address proof to validate the change in residence.
  7. Ensure that their child/children leave for school in time and properly groomed.
  8. Ensure that any home assignment allotted to the child/children are completed on time.
  9. Ensure that all of their child/children's belongings are properly labelled with his or her name, class, and section.
  10. Ensure that students do not bring expensive articles to school. Although every precaution will be taken to protect the student's belongings, the school will not be held liable for any theft or loss.
  11. Ensure they attend all the PTMs (Parent-Teacher Meetings) as they’re essential to discuss growth opportunities for the child.
  12. Encourage their child/children's interest in the various activities taking place at the school.
  13. Consider that entering the classroom or meeting the child/children during school hours is not permitted.
  14. Note that only the parents or guardians of the student are permitted to communicate with the school staff.
  15. Note that if you need a certificate from the school with respect to the child, kindly send in a duly signed application specifying the purpose of the certification.
  16. Note that escort cards must be carried by the person who comes to pick up the child/children from the school or bus stop. Parents/guardians visiting the school must carry their escort cards at all times to prevent being restricted entry in the school. Students are not allowed to leave with non-escort card holders. In case of an emergency, if the students need to leave with a non-escort card holder, parents are requested to notify the school via an official mail stating the name & class of the child/children, along with the details of the person in charge. The person coming to the school will have to carry a photo identity proof of themselves when picking the child/children.
  17. Submit two sets of spare clothes for Pre-nursery, one set of spare clothes for Nursery and K.G. students, in the event the child/children need to get changed. Please remember to label the clothing with the name, class, and section.
  18. Collaborate and cooperate with the school in upholding proper discipline and high academic standards. Damages inflicted upon the school property (of whatever nature) or any kind of refractory and unruly behaviour (like bullying, violence, class disruption, etc.) will be dealt as per our policy against misdemeanours.

CODE & CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS:

  1. The Millennium School, as one of the top schools in Greater Noida West, follows strict rules and regulations to ensure the smooth running of the classes, maintain discipline on the campus, and facilitate the all-round development of all students. We expect our students to follow these rules without fail, to avoid any disciplinary action. Please take note of the following:
  2. A student should carry his/her school books, notebooks, and the almanac to school every day. It must have his/her photograph and complete information, duly signed by the parents/guardians.
  3. As the medium of instruction in the school is English<,strong>, students are expected to converse in English at all times, except during the Hindi and Foreign Language classes.
  4. Punctuality, organisation, and efficient management are important life skills. As such, students are expected to arrive at school at least five minutes before the bell. They are also expected to come to school every day and attend all their classes.
  5. Students should not carry mobile phones, smartwatches, and similar gadgets to school.
  6. No student will be called from the class to attend any phone call unless it is very urgent.
  7. Students are encouraged to participate in all school activities, events, and celebrations. They need to attend these activities, dressed in their school uniforms, unless allowed otherwise.
  8. Students are allowed to carry cameras only on special occasions, like club activities, annual days, or sports days, with prior permission from the principal.
  9. If a child becomes ill during the school day, parents are required to come and pick up their child. They shall be notified of the same. While the school assures all possible precautions and care, the school management cannot be held responsible for any adverse consequences.
  10. In the event that the child is to leave with someone other than the parent/guardian (or a non-escort card holder), prior written permission must be obtained from school authority.
  11. Students who come to school in the care of helpers should never leave before the helper arrives. Helpers must carry their escort cards and ID cards. The loss of an escort card must be reported to the school immediately. In case of any delay, they should report to the school office.
  12. The students are to walk smartly in a queue and maintain silence whenever they move about in the corridors. They must remember to walk on the left side while using the corridors and stairs.
  13. The school takes pride in upholding hygiene, cleanliness, and social etiquette. Moreover, it is the duty of the students to maintain and adopt a hygiene-conscious lifestyle.
  14. Students are expected to observe proper etiquette and table manners during the lunch break. They must work to reduce food waste.
  15. Students should greet their seniors and teachers and give them due respect at all times. Bullying, violence, and the use of inappropriate language are not allowed in the school.
  16. Students should respect the school's property. Any kind of damage unknowingly done by the student to school property within the premises must be reported to the principal. Damage of any kind is subject to a fine or payment for replacement or repairs.
  17. We expect our students not to indulge in any kind of misdemeanour or unruly action, namely :
    1. Intentionally disfiguring or otherwise damaging any school property.
    2. Rowdy and rude behaviour.
    3. Use of violence in any form.
    4. Untouchability, casteism, racism, communalism, or similar practices.
    5. Running, playing, shouting, or any other disturbance caused in the class.
    6. Use of tobacco, alcohol, or narcotic drugs.
  18. The school management reserves the right to take strict disciplinary action (mentioned under the policy for misdemeanours) against students whose conduct is harmful to other students or to the school.

POLICY FOR DEALING WITH MISDEMEANOURS:

The school shall take strict disciplinary action to deal with different levels of misdemeanours mentioned above. The following actions may be taken against violation of school rules:

  1. The student may have to submit a specified amount as a fine that will be used by the school council as donations to a noble cause or to organise community building projects.
  2. If a student is found in unauthorised possession of a mobile phone and other unauthorised gadgets then it shall be confiscated and kept in the principal's office for a period of three months. The SIM card/USB card will, however, be returned to the parents. After a period of three months, parents may collect the mobile phone after submitting a written application.
  3. The student is expected to reflect on his/her actions. They will have to submit an introspection letter to school, reflecting on how they can redress their misdemeanour and promising not to repeat it.
  4. The parents will be informed and called to discuss the gravity of the situation. An undertaking regarding the student's behaviour in the future will be taken.
  5. The school expects students to be punctual and adhere to deadlines for various assignments, class work, and so on. In the event that an assignment is not submitted on time, the student will be reminded at least three times. Repeated late submission of assignments or bunking of classes will lead to supervised detention and counselling sessions. During the detention, the students will finish the work assigned to them under the supervision of the school staff.
  6. The school offers guidance, mentorship, and counselling to help students deal with theft, bullying, violence, vandalism, unethical practises, communalism, etc. However, repeated misbehaviour and wilful disobedience of rules may lead to permanent termination.

GUIDELINES FOR BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS:

  1. Students are allowed to wear casual clothing on their birthday.
  2. Parents/guardians are requested to make a note that the birthday celebration of students is confined to their classmates and class teachers only and that too, on a modest scale.
  3. If the parents/guardians still want to offer a gift or celebrate their child/children’s birthday in school, they are encouraged to donate books to the school library or plants to the school garden.
  4. We also encourage students and parents/guardians to celebrate by giving back to the community. The school can gladly connect you with the local NGOs/individuals in need that are in touch with us, if you want to share gifts with others on the occasion of the child/children’s birthday.

LEAVE & ATTENDANCE POLICY:

  1. Students should be regular and aspire for 100% attendance.
  2. Students are not allowed to leave the campus during the school hours. It is absolutely mandatory for all students to attend their classes on the day when the school opens after a long break.
  3. The students with 100% attendance in a month or year will be awarded an Appreciation Certificate by the school.
  4. A leave of absence on regular school days may be granted for a legitimate cause if the parent or guardian of the student seeks prior permission through a written application.
  5. Please send a leave application addressed to the principal to get a long leave sanctioned for your child. If the leave requested is for more than a week, please see the principal personally for approval.
  6. Leave for out-of-station travel requires prior approval from the principal. In the event of an emergency, parents and guardians are requested to call the teacher or meet with the principal rather than going to the classroom.
  7. Half-day leave will not be permitted for any child. However, in the event of unexpected sickness or an emergency, the student is allowed to go home earlier than the normal closing time.
  8. Students who have been sick for more than three days need to produce a Medical Certificate from their doctor upon joining the school.
  9. Students returning to the school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease need to produce a Certificate Of Fitness from their doctor permitting them to attend the school.
  10. Repeated absences without a leave application, as well as unexplained absences for more than six consecutive days renders the school liable to take strict actions.

RULES FOR LATE ARRIVAL IN THE SCHOOL:

  1. We request the parents/guardians to ensure that the student reaches the school on time.
  2. The school gate will be closed after the first bell rings, and for all late arrivals, action will be taken immediately.
  3. Three consecutive late arrivals will be dealt with strictly.

ADMISSIONS POLICY:

  1. The Millennium School, Greater Noida West, has a fair admissions policy. We offer seats to all students, without any prejudices or bias and irrespective of their caste, colour, and creed.
  2. The selection of students is made on the basis of their performance in the formal assessment. The school expects the students to meet a high standard in terms of ideals and attainments.
  3. If the School Leaving Certificate (L.C. or T.C.) submitted is from a recognised school situated outside the state, it must be countersigned by D.E.O. of the state.
  4. Documents submitted for admission will not be returned.
  5. Parents/guardians are requested to make a formal withdrawal request for their child/children at least one month in advance that will be regarded as the calendar notice period.
  6. In case of an insufficient notice period, the school will charge a penalty (amounting to the academic fee for one month).
  7. Students need to get a Clearance Certificate from various departments before the processing of the withdrawal request. Any books or belongings issued by the school need to be returned to get the clearance certificate.
  8. The Transfer Certificate will be issued between seven and fifteen days from the date of withdrawal, after the clearance process is completed.
  9. Caution money will be refunded not later than one month after the date of withdrawal. Any payments not collected within six months will be forfeited.
  10. Parents/guardians are requested to submit the Application for T.C. within a month of the student leaving the school. No T.C. Application will be entertained thereafter.

FEE POLICY:

Parents/Guardians are requested to pay the fee for their child/children on a quarterly basis, as per the schedule given below:

The 1st Quarter April-June
The 2nd Quarter July-September
The 3rd Quarter October-December
The 4th Quarter January-March

Please Note:

  1. Parent/Guardians are requested to pay the fee between the 1st and 10th of the first month of every quarter, which is the 1st of April, the 1st of July, the 1st of October, and the 1st of January.
  2. The fee can be paid online via the e-Care Pro app using the following link: http://ecare.franciscanecare.com/Login/Identifier?SchCode=TMSGRN. (Please refer to the e-Care Pro app guidelines for fee payment mentioned below.)
  3. The fee can be paid in person at the school accounts office via cheques or drafts (deposited in favour of The Millennium School, Greater Noida West) or credit/debit card payments, including the standard bank charges.
  4. As per the revised fee policy, monthly/short fees are not accepted any longer.
  5. If the fee for a quarter and the transportation fee are not paid until the 10th of the first month, then a late fee will be levied on both as per the policy mentioned below.

Guidelines for payments made via the e-Care Pro app:

  1. Please login to your e-Care Pro account and click on the fee icon present on the dashboard.
  2. Select the instalments option.
  3. Select the Pay Now option.
  4. Agree to the terms & conditions mentioned there.
  5. Select the mode of payment from the following options: credit card/debit card/UPI/Net banking.
  6. Pay the amount reflected.

RULES FOR UNIFORM & APPEARANCE:

The school uniform gives an exclusive identity to students and promotes a feeling of unity and discipline among them.

  1. Students must wear a clean, tidy school uniform on all school days. Short, torn, and tight-fitting uniforms are not allowed.
  2. The uniform should be the correct size, fit properly, and be well ironed.
  3. Boys should have their shirts buttoned up and well tucked into their trousers. Also, boys are not to wear baggy pants.
  4. Girls are to keep their skirts at knee length and follow the proper dress code to maintain decorum in class and on educational tours organised during school hours.
  5. Students should have clean, combed, and trimmed hair.
  6. Students should maintain proper personal hygiene and cleanliness. They should trim their nails at regular intervals to ensure safety against diseases.
  7. Students should wear prescribed formal/informal footwear to participate in various activities.
  8. Only socks, shoes, belts, neckties, and school blazers prescribed by the school are allowed. Any other brand will not be acceptable. Blazers must be worn every day until the winter uniform changes.
